Blind Embossing creates an impression of the design without using ink or foil. It is a very sophisticated output typically reserved for bold typography or detailed imagery.
Photopolymer plates are used to emboss your unique design onto paper. These plates are typically rolled with ink before each print, however in the case of a blind emboss, the plate is punched onto the paper without ink. Impressions are typically inset into the paper, as opposed to raised above the surface.
Without using ink, the legibility of a blind embossed image is reliant on having a deep impression. Blind embossed prints work best using double thick cardstock paper and may also be combined with inkjet printing photographic imagery or watercolor paintings.
