Brush lettering is a more informal style of handwriting similar to calligraphy. Heavy pressure is applied on the downward stroke of each letter, and light pressure is applied with every upward stroke. Because of the pressure creating the varying stroke weights of letters, brush lettering is commonly known as modern calligraphy. Brushed lettering can either be hand drawn (preferable) or emulated by digital typefaces.
